From the First Tooth has adopted the Smiles for Life Fluoride Varnish Curriculum for its training.
2012 Oral Health Heroes
On January 10th an award ceremony was held at the Governor's Mansion, the Blaine House, to present awards to two legislators, a general dentist and a pediatrician, in recognition of them all being named "Oral Health Heroes" for 2011 by the Maine Dental Access Coalition
- Senator Chris Rector and Representative Mark Eves - for their unwavering spport for oral health in the legislature.
- Dr. Timothy Oh - for his efforts in brining care to Wshington and Hancock counties.
- Waterville Pediatrics -(represented by Dr. Jeff Stone) - for their attention to children's oral health, fluoride varnish and incorporation of a dental hygienist as part of their team. Dr. Stone and Waterville Pediatrics participated in Phase One of From the First Tooth and still continue to participate.Dr Stone is a Medical Advisor for From the FIrst Tooth.
